EMW-CEF celebrates its first year as a registered charity

January 13, 2026 — East Meets West – Children’s Education Fund (EMW-CEF) celebrated its first year as a registered charity in Canada. “Many important milestones were achieved with the support of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers,” says Naraindra Prashad, Founder of EMW-CEF and Board President.

Friday, August 1, 2025 — East Meets West – Children’s Education Fund (EMW-CEF) is pleased to announce that it has awarded scholarships to five gifted young students living in impoverished communities in Rishikesh, India.

Naraindra Prashad, Founder of EMW-CEF and Board President, says the awards are a milestone for the charity. 

EMW-CEF granted charity status from CRA

February 26, 2025: The East Meets West – Children’s Education Fund (EMW-CEF) is pleased to announce that it has been designated as a registered charity by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), said Naraindra Prashad, Founder of the charity and President of its Board of Directors.

“With charitable status, we have achieved our first major milestone and, now, our plan is to quickly mobilize to support the education of children in impoverished communities,” he said.
