Thank you for considering a volunteer opportunity with East Meets West – Children’s Education Fund (EMW-CEF). Select an option that suits you.
As a new registered charity, EMW-CEF seeks expertise in the following areas: accounting and finance, marketing, web development and analytics, event planning, and volunteer management.
If you have a special skill set that you believe would help grow our organization, let us know.
Each year, we partner with our sister organization, East Meets West Yog (EMWY) to organize tours to India and Nepal that include brief volunteer opportunities with our charity partners. Our volunteers have prepared meals for children and taught in the classroom. Is this you? Let us know.
Naraindra Prashad, founder of EMW-CEF and a yoga instructor since 2010 says: “Over the past several years, I have established strong relationships with our charity partners in Nepal, India and Guyana . My family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and, of course, my yoga students have rallied with donations and fundraising events to support their work with children.”
Consider supporting EMW-CEF with a fundraising event in your community. Invite family and friends. Here are few ideas: neighbourhood garage sales (used books are always popular); 50/50 draw, bake sales, raffles. Ask local businesses to donate prizes. Talk to us if you have other creative ideas.
East Meets West – Children’s Education Fund (EMW-CEF) was inspired by the teachings of Karma Yoga under the leadership of Naraindra Prashad, a yoga teacher since 2010.
